On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Library will offer a free beginner’s class about the computer. This class will cover the basics of the computer including exploring the computer’s desktop and using the keyboard and the mouse. Laptops will be available for participants to use. This class will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Library’s meeting room C.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15, the Library will present a free class on how to search on Overdrive’s website and how to check out and download e-books and audiobooks. The class will also cover how to use the Overdrive and Libby apps. Overdrive is a service offered by the Library that lets patrons borrow e-books and audiobooks for free. Participants are welcome to bring their charged and registered tablets and e-readers to class. This class will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Library’s meeting room C.

On Monday, Jan. 14, Rebecca Renfro will be conducting a free “Basics of Birdwatching for Beginners” class at Bartlesville Public Library. The class will be in the Library’s upstairs meeting room from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Renfro will demonstrate how to properly use binoculars and provide how-to tips in bird identification. Renfro is a member of both the Tulsa Audubon Society and the Oklahoma Ornithological Society. She has presented on birdwatching to small groups for the Oklahoma BioBlitz (with the University of Oklahoma Biological Survey), at Osage Hills State Park, and at various public schools.

The Bartlesville Public Library offers a Library of Things collection for patrons to check out a wide variety of items. One of the items available for check out it are Birdwatching Kits. These kits include a Gosky binocular with a smartphone adapter and an Oklahoma Birds identification pamphlet. The library also has a number of books about birds available for checkout.
Participants will need to bring a pair of binoculars to the class, however Renfro will have a few binoculars available if needed.
