This month is the 1-year anniversary of BPL’s monthly LEGO Club! The traditional 1-year anniversary gift is something made of paper and the modern 1-year anniversary gift theme is clocks. Therefore our challenge will be to build a clock or something usually made of paper (books, deck of cards, or postage stamps, for example)!
Playaway® is the simplest way to listen to an audiobook.
Unlike CDs, audio cassettes or downloads, Playaway is a compact device much like an MP3 player.
Playaway comes pre-loaded and ready to use. Simply plug in earbuds or an auxiliary cable and enjoy.
Perfectly Portable: You can listen in the car, at the gym and everywhere
in-between. From NY Times bestsellers to
award-winning authors; we have the variety our community craves!
Simply visit the BPL catalog at http://bartlesville.polarislibrary.com, find the playaway for you and check it out like a book!
The checkout period is 14 days. You provide your own earbuds or auxiliary cables, or if you don’t have any,
we sell either earbuds or auxiliary cables for $2.00 each.
Bartlesville Public Library – serving our community with excellence!
Have you heard about BPL’s Youth Launchpads,
the latest addition to our Library of Things Collection?
They are a wonderful resource with pre-loaded educational games, helping youth of all ages have fun while learning on “their own tablet”!

If you have questions or for more information, please call our Reference Department

Learning has never been so much fun!
The Youth Services department has recently improved the Teen area by adding iPads, a Smart Table, and video games to check out. But we’re not stopping there! Future plans include expanding the space, adding new furniture and décor, establishing a separate BPL Facebook page for teens, and boosting programming and resources for our community’s middle- and high-schoolers. KIDS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The library will soon create a Teen Advisory Board, or TAB, made up of TEENS who are interested in becoming more involved with our community and our library. This group will work with Youth Services staff to decide what they would like to do. They will give input on the Young Adult collection, help create and lead programming, volunteer at library events, contribute to library publications and social media, and organize community service projects. The board will have regular meetings and greatly influence how BPL serves teens in the future!
Applications will be available at the Youth Services desk August 1. For more information, call 918-338-4170.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Independence Day!
We are excited to announce that renovations are complete,
and the Friends book store has reopened!
Stop in today and find some books to take home!
TONIGHT! Teen Library Program at “Level 8 VR”, 6-8pm! Teens (middle & high school age) who are signed up for the Summer Reading Program will take over our local Virtual Reality gaming place for two hours of fun & snacks. They may also register for the Summer Reading Program at the event. Don’t miss it!
