BPL is excited to announce the arrival of new Young Adult Graphic Novels, located in the ‘new books’ section of the Youth Services Department. Click the link to search BPL’s catalog for graphic novels, available in all ages. http://bartlesville.polarislibrary.com/polaris/

BPL’s newest Young Adult Graphic Novel selections include the debut of Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima’s new series, Edens Zero; the most current released volumes of Dragonball Super, the continuation of the classic series; volumes 1-5 of My Hero Academia; and One Punch Man, as seen on Toonami!

Saturday, November 10, 10:30am – Noon

This month is the 1-year anniversary of BPL’s monthly LEGO Club! The traditional 1-year anniversary gift is something made of paper and the modern 1-year anniversary gift theme is clocks. Therefore our challenge will be to build a clock or something usually made of paper (books, deck of cards, or postage stamps, for example)!

Playaway® is the simplest way to listen to an audiobook.
Unlike CDs, audio cassettes or downloads, Playaway is a compact device much like an MP3 player.
Playaway comes pre-loaded and ready to use. Simply plug in earbuds or an auxiliary cable and enjoy.

Perfectly Portable: You can listen in the car, at the gym and everywhere
in-between. From NY Times bestsellers to
award-winning authors; we have the variety our community craves!

Simply visit the BPL catalog at http://bartlesville.polarislibrary.com, find the playaway for you and check it out like a book!
The checkout period is 14 days. You provide your own earbuds or auxiliary cables, or if you don’t have any,
we sell either earbuds or auxiliary cables for $2.00 each.

The Youth Services department has recently improved the Teen area by adding iPads, a Smart Table, and video games to check out.  But we’re not stopping there!  Future plans include expanding the space, adding new furniture and décor, establishing a separate BPL Facebook page for teens, and boosting programming and resources for our community’s middle- and high-schoolers.  KIDS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The library will soon create a Teen Advisory Board, or TAB, made up of TEENS who are interested in becoming more involved with our community and our library.  This group will work with Youth Services staff to decide what they would like to do.  They will give input on the Young Adult collection, help create and lead programming, volunteer at library events, contribute to library publications and social media, and organize community service projects.  The board will have regular meetings and greatly influence how BPL serves teens in the future!

Applications will be available at the Youth Services desk August 1. For more information, call 918-338-4170.
